Pica received the Governor of Maine’s Award for Innovation in Tourism last night for our work on Belfast The Bay and Beyond Magazine (Belfast, Maine) BIG thanks to the City of Belfast, the State of Maine, the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce, Our Town Belfast, and all the folks who make Belfast what it is!
“We are delighted to share the new 2013 magazine through Apple’s app store to promote Belfast, Waldo County and Maine to a global audience. Belfast is on the cutting edge of new technology and is benefiting from Pica’s creative collaboration and the efforts of lots of our local people,” said Dorothy Havey, Executive Director of the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce.
The launch of the digitally published version of Belfast The Bay and Beyond optimized for the Apple iPad, was accomplished just one year after Pica worked to enhance the topics, reach, and look and feel of the chamber’s annual print magazine.
“It was an exciting and natural process to move Belfast The Bay and Beyond into the digital realm,” said Pica’s Creative Director, Rob Dietz.
Local and visiting readers can now swipe, scroll, and tap their way through 68 pages of interactive articles, stories, and sidebars on what’s great and growing around the Belfast area.
The guide includes exclusive, interactive content and a full-length feature video on the farm to table way of life in Belfast. The title “A Journey from Farm to Table” captures the spirit and success of the locally sourced food and natural products movement.
